I have a gas fireplace. I needed to purchase a new heating element and have a HVAC technician install it. This was going to cost over $500. So I started looking for alternatives and found this. It fits perfectly inside my gas fireplace. I just wanted the ambiance of the fireplace during the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas). It works great. I love the remote control. I can program it to a particular temperature and it shuts on/off automatically. It gives off enough warmth to heat a small diameter in front of the fireplace. It’s not enough to heat a room and the logs do look fake (but the colors are still pretty). I’m ok with this, but I thought I’d mention it.

Pros: fun look with some ambiance, compact, good heat output, easy to use, nice safety, and well worth the price. Cons: wish the display and control were a little easier to verify the current setting.Overall, this little fireplace keeps my rooms warm through the winter. With time, they can warm a large room if needed. The construction and design seem very safe if placed unobstructed. I read some of these reviews on the “reality of a fireplace.” This looks like a fun, stylish “fake” fireplace. Honestly, reminds me of a diorama at Disneyland. I love this fireplace.

REMOTE AND REPLACEMENT REMOTE DO NOT WORK! (addendum at bottom since got new remote)
Likes: visually pleasing, heat adequate…IF REMOTE WORKS.Dislikes: Remotes do NOT work…it has been soooo frustrating for the 2 years I’ve had it! I’m physically disabled and it’s such a chore trying to turn it on and off at floor level that I can hardly use it unfortunately. I bought it specifically because it came with remote. Very displeased. Will attempt asking them for yet another remote but the warranty expired so they may charge me now, but if they get me a fully functional remote it will be worth it.initially gave them 3 stars, but would be 5 stars if remote work.addendum:a few days later, I got a response from Turbro’s customer service. They gave me two links to replace remote at my cost (only 10 bucks each). One link led to same old remote, other to newer remote which I chose and it is now in the mail. If I don’t amend this again, the remote will have worked and I’m sitting in my recliner watching the snow fall and fireplace flicker 🙂 I am changing the star to 4.

Tiny bit cheesy but good ambiance
If you aren’t careful, you might fool yourself into thinking you have a real fire. Although I wish “flames” were a bit brighter, it totally makes up for not having the mess and post fire smell, not to mention a real fireplace is a real heat suck.

Fantastic!
We received this today. It took, maybe 10 min tops to set up. Basically, unbox it, place it, and power it on. This thing looks great in a real fireplace and produces some heat (although I think you wouldn’t want to try and actually heat anything but a small room with it). But for our purposes it was perfect. Pull the chain curtain closed and it hides the fact that it’s fake pretty well. We put an Amazon Echo by I and told it to play fireplace sounds, and BAM! Perfect fireplace night! We’re super happy with it and couldn’t beat the price!Ps – I do think it puts out enough heat that if the kids have been playing in the snow they could come sit by it like a normal fire and warm up pretty nicely.

This is a perfect insert for wood burning fireplace! It heats up quickly & the fan is not loud. Highly recommend! Easy to install..just open box, insert into fireplace, plug in..put batteries in remote & you are ready to use!

Great and stilll working
We have had this item for the longest time now and it really saves our feet during the winter we have set it up as our fireplace replacement since we opt not to burn firewood. The only ripe I have maybe is the power line needs to be set up with an angled plug to get into hard to reach area to hide the wires a lot better but other than that this thing is amazing.
