    Authentic flickering flame look
These lanterns are pretty cool! Unlike most “flickering flame” effect lights I’ve seen over the years, these really look like there could be actual fire inside the jars. The light is warmer and brighter than I’ve come to expect from solar LED lights, though not so bright that they provide much real illumination: they’re more for atmosphere. The jars are real glass (frosted) and reasonably substantial: one of ours survived a 4′ fall onto a gravel path. They come with a wire handle/hanger that is easily removed if not wanted. They do need to soak up a fair bit of sunlight to stay lighted for very long — and need to be in a fairly dark area to light up. These factors somewhat limit where they can be used — though it is possible to ‘trick’ them into thinking it’s dark by covering the photoreceptor in the lid. (Just remember to uncover it later so they can absorb more light the next day.) So far they have held up through months in the elements, and even partial sun on a gray New England winter day gives them enough juice to light up for at least awhile.

These solar flame lights are awesome !
This is our first time to experience solar powered flame lights. we have had electrically powered flame lights for a number of years at our front and back doors. We have several regular solar powered lights on our 4×4 deck posts. We had purchased these solar powered flame lights to swap out every other 4×4 post light. We received them yesterday, Sunday afternoon, May 29th. We allowed all the lights to absorb sunlight for about 6 hours, and to our amazement once the lights were powered up that evening, they displayed its flame light for over 12 hours and into the next day. We chose to put them throughout our comfortable bedroom area, and it really made the bedroom look so inviting with the light’s ambiance. So, so far, we have nothing but great things to say about these flame lights. Steve Denny-1978, The NorsemanUpdate 6/03/22… OK, some disappointment after the first day. However I found somewhat a solution. What happened was AFTER the very night and then the first day, I placed the lights out in the sunlight for probably 10 hours to get a great charge from the sun, and yes I turned them all off to ensure a good charge. Unfortunately they only operated for about 4 hours max the second night. So, the following day I swapped out 4 of the rechargeable 600 mAH 1.2v AAA batteries to 4 rechargeable1100 mAh 1.2v AAA batteries that I happen to have on hand, and that did help keep the lights burning for about 8 hours the following night. The higher the mAh, the longer the run time. You can order these rechargeable 1100 mAH AAA batteries, (in which I did) right here on Amazon. I’m definitely happier now.

    So nice
These truly look like they are holding flames. They give off a decent amount of light, look so nice, and last for hours (4am they still glow strong)

Great lights, but solar powered only
Really like these lights, they look like little fires, but the description said solar/battery powered, but the battery referred to is the built in solar battery. You CANNOT install your own batteries and have them run off battery power only. They must get sun or lots of natural light or they will not work.

Rust and only 4-5 hours light
I bought 10 units, all are outside. After 2 weeks they look like in the picture. The top cover is with rust. Also, the light hold about 4-5 hours top

    Smaller than you think
I bought these to hang from my porch but they are small. I thought they would be normal sized mason jars but they were smaller

Been running strong for 1+ year, but rusting.
To be honest, I didn’t expect these lights to last more than a few months, but I’m happy to report that they’re continuing to work flawlessly for the past year. My only criticism is that the metal lids have begun to rust heavily.
